At some point though, we had to draw the line. I think this was a big part of why that game was a success – we kept it alive, listened to fans, and added more and more. There were 20 updates, and tons of towers, enemies, environments, and features added. What better font of knowledge than that of Co-Founder and CEO, Arash Kesmirian? We caught up with him to find the answers to our questions and more.ġ48Apps: What made you decide to release a whole new game rather than update the original TowerMadness?Īrash Keshmirian (AK): We’ve been building on the original TowerMadness for nearly five years now it went from having only four simple maps to over a hundred. It would've been a GREAT game if you could have made it so I could earn my way up through all that stuff by playing well, rather than keep asking me to open my wallet and pay you more and more.Following the surprise release of TowerMadness 2 last week we thought it was the ideal time to find out more about Limbic Software's latest title, learn about some of the design process behind it, and discover just how it came to be. I can give you a low rating and delete the game because it's not fun. Then you ratchet up the difficulty so quickly that I have no choice but to spend more more money. Then you want me to pay money for the ability to earn enough "wool" to buy more towers and start all over again. Then you want me to pay money for "slots" so I can use those towers in the game. But all the cute graphics in the world aren't going to make how hard you're trying to nickle & dime me into paying like $20 to play this little game into a fun experience. Then I would find that fun, and give you a good rating. Maybe you guys should just focus on writing a good game and charge a fair price for it up front, rather than relentlessly trying to get me to pay more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more money for it. All around great free to play game and definitely worth the install! Glad I found this game and great work to the team for not being scummy and money-grabbing! <3Īnother great game ruined by in-app purchase mania You're able to get a VERY decent amount of wool by watching ads, which I'll happily contribute to. This is exactly the type of game I was looking for when searching for tower defense games! You can route the enemies to go where you'd like, adding an extra dimension to the strategy behind the gameplay. The tutorial is slow progressing and simple, yet difficult enough to force you to pay attention to what's going on in a straight forward way. You're able to focus on the game and not worry about getting an ad every single time you finish a level. I haven't gotten a single ad that I haven't purposely opted into, and to me that already signifies a great game. Then it pollitely asked me if I'd like to rate it, which is what I chose to do. When this game prompted me if I liked it, I said yes. We appreciate your support, but we won’t pressure you to buy anything inside the game. Play with a gamepad for a console like gaming experience.Īll In-App Purchases are strictly optional. Save your game progress and restore it to any of your iCloud enabled devices.
